May is Masturbation Month

The month of May is Masturbation Month, and we are using it as the perfect excuse to share tips from bloggers and experts about why sexual self-care is so important and how they incorporate it into their routines!

What is sexual self-care?

Much like unwinding from a long week by practicing intentional habits meant to relieve stress and restore you, sexual self-care aims to connect and recharge your sexual being. It is a part of self-care that’s often forgotten but has incredible benefits!

Sexual self-care helps relieve stress, get you in tune with your body and explore new practices that excite you. It can also benefit partnerships that you may have with other people, as you’ll know a little more about what gets you going.

This week, we take advice from Catherine Sarsfield, who wrote a guide on this practice for Ferly.

Be intentional about creating space

Set your intentions before your session by creating a space and time for you to practice. Your commitment to this part can be however much your comfortable with! You can light candles, dim the lights, or play a playlist that makes you feel sexy. Feel free to change up this routine as you see fit!
